Your Adventure, Day by Day

Your Dolomites
Hiking Itinerary

pozza

Your adventure begins as you arrive in Italy, where transport will be arranged to collect you from Bolzano Train Station or Airport. It’s well connected to nearby airports such as Verona and Venice by train, making your journey smooth and hassle-free.

To make the most of your trip, we recommend arriving in the morning or afternoon, giving you time to settle in and also a great opportunity to meet your fellow adventurers. If you’re arriving a day early, we can suggest excellent accommodation options to ensure a relaxed start to your journey.

For the duration of the trip, you’ll be based in Pozza di Fassa, right in the heart of the Dolomites. This means you won’t have to carry all your belongings from place to place, and after each day of hiking, you’ll return to the comfort of a warm shower and a cosy bed. Get ready for an unforgettable week exploring one of Europe’s most spectacular mountain landscapes.

vajolet

Distance – 13km, Elevation – 900m, Time – 6 Hours

This iconic hike into the heart of the Rosengarten (Catinaccio) group leads you to the dramatic Torri del Vajolet, a cluster of towering spires that rise like stone cathedrals. Starting from the Gardeccia basin (accessible via shuttle or hike from Pozza), the trail climbs through alpine meadows and over rocky passes, eventually reaching Rifugio Re Alberto at the base of the towers. It’s a tough but thrilling day in an absolutely majestic setting.

Antermoia Lake

Distance – 15.9km, Elevation – 1105m, Time – 7 Hours

One of the Dolomites’ hidden gems, Lago d’Antermoia is a glacial lake nestled in a barren, lunar-like landscape high above the Val di Fassa. The loop begins near Pera di Fassa, ascending through the Catinaccio range via Rifugio Gardeccia and Rifugio Antermoia. The turquoise lake contrasts starkly with the surrounding pale rock, making for an unforgettable scene before looping back down a different route. Remote, peaceful, and spectacular.

Sassolungo

Distance – 16.8km, Elevation – 850m, Time – 7 Hours

Starting from Passo Sella (a 35–40 min drive from Pozza), this full loop circumnavigates the massive Sassolungo group. It’s a varied trail through rocky passes, lush meadows, and panoramic balconies, with multiple rifugi to stop for a meal or drink. The constant shift in perspective on the massif makes every turn visually rewarding, and it’s one of the best moderate full-day hikes in the area.

venice

After several days of hiking through the Dolomite’s wild landscapes, today is a chance to slow down, explore the village at your own pace, or take a day trip to one of the country’s other stunning destinations.

There are hundreds more hikes you can go for alone if you still have the energy or maybe you would like to experience a bit of culture in Verona or Venice. We have lots of ideas for you if you need some inspiration.

pizboe

Distance – 10.9km, Elevation – 667m, Time – 5 Hours

From Passo Pordoi (about 1 hour from Pozza), take the Sass Pordoi cable car to the terrace and hike to Piz Boè, one of the Dolomites’ highest peaks at 3,152 m. The trail crosses a surreal high-alpine plateau, offering sweeping views across the entire range. Though short, the altitude makes it feel epic — a perfect way to “cheat” your way into a high summit adventure with manageable effort.

Ciampedie

Distance – 13.2km, Elevation – 795m, Time – 5,5 Hours

This loop begins with a cable car ride from Vigo di Fassa (next to Pozza) to Ciampedie, then heads toward Gardeccia and eventually climbs to Rifugio Roda di Vael, perched dramatically under the Rosengarten cliffs. The trail weaves through pine forests, rocky slopes, and panoramic viewpoints. It’s a more moderate day out, but with huge scenic rewards — especially the final ridge before descending.

verona

After an incredible week exploring the wild beauty of the Dolomites, it’s time to pack your bags and begin your journey onwards. Transport will be arranged to take you back to Bolzano. It’s recommended not to book a flight too early on the final day to give yourself time to get  back to the airport.

If you’re extending your stay, there are plenty of incredible places to explore beyond the mountains. We’d be happy to share recommendations to help you make the most of your time.

As you leave the Dolomites behind, you’ll take with you memories of dramatic peaks, glacial lakes, and unforgettable adventures in one of Europe’s most breathtaking landscapes. Until next time!

YOUR ACCOMMOdATION

You’ll be staying at Apartment Deluca in the heart of the village of Pozza di Fassa. It’s a family run guesthouse, nestled in the mountains. Sometimes a different guesthouse of similar quality will be used but we will always let you know 6 weeks prior to arrival.

This trip to the Dolomites was genuinely unforgettable. The landscapes are beyond anything I’d imagined and trails that seem to lead straight into the clouds. Trailmates organised everything perfectly from start to finish and I met a group of people that I now consider as friends. Each day offered something new, from high-altitude ridgelines to hidden lakes and welcoming mountain huts (with amazing food and drink). The hikes were challenging in all the right ways, but the rewards at every turn were incredible. It felt like stepping into a postcard — only better. If you love wild scenery and want to feel both awed and grounded by nature, the Dolomites deliver in every way.
