Your adventure begins as you arrive in Greece, where transport will be arranged to collect you from Thessaloniki Airport. It’s well connected to Europe, making your journey smooth and hassle-free. We will start our journey to the mountains in the late afternoon. If you arrive earlier you can store your luggage in the city centre and use the time to explore Thessaloniki.
To make the most of your trip, we recommend arriving in the morning or afternoon, giving you time to settle in and it’s a great opportunity to meet your fellow adventurers. If you’re arriving a day early, we can suggest excellent accommodation options to ensure a relaxed start to your journey.
For the duration of the trip, you’ll be based in Litochoro, right at the heart of Mount Olympus National Park. This means you won’t have to carry all your belongings from place to place, and after each day of hiking, you’ll return to the comfort of a warm shower and a cosy bed. Get ready for an unforgettable week exploring one of Europe’s most spectacular mountain landscapes.

This classic Olympus hike follows the Enipeas Gorge from the high forested slopes of Prionia down to the town of Litochoro, tracing one of the mountain’s most beautiful valleys. Starting at Prionia (1,100 m), the trail descends through dense beech and pine forest, crossing wooden bridges over the clear waters of the Enipeas River.
The gorge is rich in atmosphere, with waterfalls, rock pools, and limestone cliffs rising above the trail. Chapels tucked into the forest, including Agios Dionysios, add a cultural layer to the natural beauty.
The final section emerges from the gorge into the lower valley, ending in Litochoro at the foot of Mount Olympus. With its mix of forest, water, and mountain scenery, this is one of the most rewarding day hikes in Greece.

This full-day hike makes a grand circuit of the Meteora rock formations, combining quiet forest trails, ancient stone paths, and close-up views of the monasteries. Starting from Kalampaka, the route climbs steadily among sandstone cliffs, winding beneath the towering pinnacles that make Meteora so distinctive.
The trail leads past the famous monasteries of Great Meteoron, Varlaam, and Rousanou, each dramatically balanced on the cliffs. Beyond the main cluster, the path continues across ridges and forest tracks toward Kastraki village, offering quieter viewpoints and perspectives of the rocks rising from the plain.
After a break in Kastraki, the return loops back along lesser-travelled paths to Kalampaka, completing a demanding but richly rewarding hike. With its length, elevation, and variety of terrain, this circuit gives the most complete walking experience of Meteora’s landscape and heritage.
After several days of hiking through Greecs’s wild landscapes, today is a chance to slow down, explore Litochoro at your own pace, or take a day trip to one of the country’s other stunning destinations.
The town itself is charming, with cobbled streets, traditional tavernas, and shady squares where you can relax over coffee or a plate of meze. If you’d like to rest your legs, head down to the coast just a short drive away, where long stretches of sandy beach and the clear waters of the Aegean make for a refreshing contrast to the mountains. Popular spots like Plaka and Leptokarya offer both lively beach cafés and quieter corners where you can simply swim and sunbathe with Olympus towering behind you. For something more cultural, you could visit the ancient site of Dion, once a sacred city dedicated to Zeus, or explore the nearby monasteries tucked into the foothills. Whether you choose history, seaside relaxation, or a gentle wander around Litochoro itself, the area makes it easy to balance mountain adventure with rest and discovery.
